These Terms govern your use of the CarPulse iOS application ("App"), published by Mobile Alchemy. By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
CarPulse is an OBD2 diagnostic tool that reads and displays data from your vehicle's on-board computer through a third-party OBD2 adapter. The App provides diagnostic trouble code lookups, sensor readings, emissions readiness checks, and maintenance tracking.
CarPulse is an informational tool, not a substitute for professional automotive diagnosis or repair. Diagnostic trouble codes indicate where to look, not what to fix. Always consult a qualified mechanic before performing repairs based on information from this App. We are not responsible for any damage, injury, or loss resulting from actions taken based on information displayed by the App.
Reading diagnostic trouble codes, plain-English explanations, live sensor data, and clearing the check engine light are free features and will remain available without a subscription.
The App requires a compatible Bluetooth LE or Wi-Fi OBD2 adapter (not included) to communicate with your vehicle. We do not manufacture, sell, or warrant any adapter hardware. Adapter compatibility, quality, and safety are the responsibility of the adapter manufacturer.
The App may contain affiliate links to third-party retailers for OBD2 adapters. We earn a commission on qualifying purchases. These links open in your system browser; we have no control over the retailer's website, pricing, or fulfillment. Purchases from third-party retailers are governed by that retailer's terms.
The App, its code, design, DTC database content, and documentation are owned by Mobile Alchemy or its licensors. OBD2 protocols are defined by SAE International and ISO standards. Vehicle diagnostic data belongs to the vehicle owner.
You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the App's source code or DTC database. You may not use the App for any purpose that violates applicable law.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION IS COMPLETE, ACCURATE, OR CURRENT FOR YOUR SPECIFIC VEHICLE. VEHICLE COMPUTERS CAN REPORT MISLEADING CODES, AND THE APP CANNOT DETECT ALL POSSIBLE FAULTS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOBILE ALCHEMY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO VEHICLE DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR FAILED EMISSIONS INSPECTIONS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
We may terminate or suspend access to the App's online services (DTC lookup API) at any time. Core on-device functionality (code reading, sensor data, clearing codes) does not depend on our servers and will continue to work.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the App's release notes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
